The Halloween festivities finally arrived! We started with the annual pumpkin carving FHE.
Next were the Halloween school parties! Beckett changed his mind about 50 times about what he wanted to be for Halloween and finally decided on a vampire for his class party. We somehow misplaced the teeth so the morning of the party Beckett was very upset that he didn't have any vampire teeth! Garrett being an awesome dad, ran to the store and had to go to two stores since it was the day before Halloween and finally found some. Then he delivered them to Beckett at school and his teacher told me he didn't take them out from the moment he got them:)
They had a halloween parade and a little program where they sang some cute halloween songs. Then it was time for donuts, cookies, and hot chocolate!
Dallas was very happy to be included in this celebration and Beckett was excited to have his little brother to show off to his friends.
The next day was the elementary school parade. Rylynn was a skeleton princess this year. Another last minute change.
Dallas was excited to get to watch the parade.
Rylynn looked right at us but Carter had a mask on so it was a little harder for him to find us.
Carter was a power ranger. Again, this was not the original plan and the whole idea of reusing costumes was a fail. Luckily I was able to find Rylynn and Carter's costumes for cheap.
After the parade we tracked down Carter's class so we could get a better picture:)
That night we had the ward halloween party and chili cook off. Dallas was pretty good about wearing his monkey costume. All the kids have used this monkey costume but we have always lived where it is cold on Halloween so we were worried Dallas would get too hot in it. He wouldn't wear the monkey gloves since it was hot but he still pulled it off quite well. Notice that Beckett switched to being a pirate for the actual trick or treating.
At the last minute, Garrett and I decided to dress up for the party. I found this dress in the dress ups and threw my mom's hat on to be princess Kate and since Garrett had his fatigues on, we decided to be William and Kate.
This little monkey wouldn't sit still for a minute and had a great time wandering around the park with a sucker in his mouth and a spare in his hand.
Beckett was thrilled to play with his best friend Cache since Cache hadn't been able to go to the preschool party because he was sick. They were so happy to get to celebrate at the park together!
After the party, I took Dallas home to go to sleep but the kids hit the neighborhood with Garrett and the Vaughans. They brought in quite the loot as usual and we had constant sugar highs for the next few days. I am really hoping my children never figure out that the buckets I give them for candy are relatively small. They haven't figured out the whole pillow case thing yet and I hope to keep it that way for many more years to come!
