Happy Eight Years to US!

Yes, today was our 8th wedding anniversary!  And I feel soooo blessed to be married to the best man in the world.  We had an awesome celebration!  No just kidding, we've accepted the fact that anniversaries will suck during the baby years so we are planning an AMAZING anniversary trip for year 15:)  Seriously though, I sometimes think back on the eight years we have been married and wonder how in the world I got so lucky.  I was just a wee young 18 year old when this amazing man walked into my life and changed it forever.  Hopefully Rylynn's path will not be the same as mine for her mother and father's sake, but for reasons I am still finding out, it was my path to get married young, and I'm so thankful I did.  It hasn't been the easiest road being poor students, working multiple jobs, and having kids along the way, but these trials have all made us so much better and brought us so close to eachother and the Lord.  I wouldn't change my path for anything.  I am just so happy that I get to walk it hand in hand with my best friend and the person I admire most on this earth.  I love you honey!

Beckett's new trick

Beckett does this hilarious face lately.  We started doing it to each other when I would feed him in his high chair, but now he will do it on demand.  He especially loves doing it with Rylynn.

He's getting ready...

So he scrunches up his nose, closes his eyes and puckers his lips and breathes really loud in and out of his nose.  It is sooo funny!

He usually claps for himself when he is done because we all laugh at him.

Love this one!

This one he is kind of sticking out his tongue just to switch it up for the camera!

This baby is growing up so fast!!  He is so anxious to crawl.  He gets in position, moves his hands foward, and then falls on his tummy and does the superman.  I have to admit, I secretly love that he can't crawl yet.  I will never get anything done when he finally does.  It is weird though, both my other kids were crawling by 4-6 months and Carter was walking/running at 10 months.  Instead of crawling, Beckett has mastered rolling and he will go from one end of the room to the other.  He is such a happy baby and such a good boy.  I just can't get enough of that grin!

Tea for Two!

Rylynn's preschool put on a mother's day tea party for the kids and their moms last friday.  It was so much fun.  I loved spending time with just Rylynn and seeing her with all her friends.  I can't believe how grown up she is.
The tea party was at a hotel and we had a yummy luncheon and cake.  We brought fancy tea cups to drink our drinks in.  Rylynn was so careful with her tea cup full of fruit punch:)

They sang us some really cute mother's day songs.

Rylynn made me these beautiful presents.  My favorite part of the tea party was when Rylynn's teacher read off descriptions of each of the mother's through their child's perspective.  It was so funny.  Each child was asked certain questions about their mom and the best one was "how old is your mom?"  Some of the kids said 82, 87, 13.  Rylynn said I was 37.  Only off by ten years, not too bad!  Another one of her answers I loved was to the question "when does your mom look prettiest?"  She said when she goes for a dance with my Dad.  So cute, eventhough we never go dancing:)  I think she meant when we go out on dates.  I had to laugh because she said my favorite color was black and my favorite food is chinese salad?  I'm not sure where she came up with those, but I do like both of them.

Then on Mother's Day morning, the kids and Garrett made me a very special breakfast and Rylynn made this cute card.  It says "Dear Mom, I love you always.  Happy mother's day!"  It was very cute.  Carter is the worst at surprises because he just can't wait to tell the person, so while Rylynn was setting the table and Garrett was finishing up the cooking Carter snuck up to my room and said, "Mama we're making you a special breakfast!  And you get presents!"  I was totally laughing because Rylynn, of course, came running up the stairs yelling at him not to say anything.  I just love my babies!

And for the BIG Mother's Day present we bought a trampoline!  We have been wanting to get one for awhile so we finally did it on Saturday.  It was on sale, and we figured what better Mother's Day present could you ask for than something to keep your kids happy and entertained?  The whole neighborhood came to see the final moments of setting it up.  The kids have been in heaven!

"One year older, and wiser too..."

Happy birthday to me!  I never blogged about it, but I had a great birthday a few weeks ago.  It was pretty low key, but Garrett and I got to go out to dinner with his cousin Stacey and Geoff.  We had a great time!  Then on Sunday we had our good friends the Slacks come over for dessert to celebrate.  My husband made this yummy cake!
Erin brought me some of her amazing oatmeal fudge bars too, you can see them in the pan on the counter.

My actual birthday was on Monday so I got to talk to all my family and some dear friends.  Then I got these beautiful flowers in the mail from my awesome little sister!  Thanks Squage, they brightened our house all week.

On the morning of my birthday, my darling Rylynn got up and made this beautiful card for me.  I love the pipe cleaner rainbow!

It was so fun to get birthday wishes from so many people on facebook too.  I never go on there but it was really fun to reconnect with so many people for my birthday.  Also my awesome neighbor brought me over some warm home baked bread!  It was so good.  Basically I felt really loved and it made it a little better that I am a year older and getting dangerously close to the big 3-0!  AHHHHH!
