V-Day 2010

What did I get for Valentine's Day this year??  One sick baby, one sick daughter, their cold, and a barfing toddler all night long:)  It was awesome.  Oh and no sleep.

LUCKILY....
We had a little family celebration on Friday night before we all got sick.  I made homemade heart pizza dough for everyone and then we all got to make our own little pizzas.

These were the kid's creations.

Can you tell that Carter is proud of his creation?  Rylynn was so excited about the idea too she said to me, "Mama!  Usually you get to be the chef, but tonight we all get to be chefs!"  I have to admit, I got the idea for Caillou.  Carter loves Caillou and there is one episode where they get to make their own little pizzas and he has been asking me if we can do that for weeks.  So yeah, it was a hit.

Then what do you do after eating messy pizza?  Have a family kids bath!  This was the first real bath with all the kids included.  They loved it.  Rylynn was in charge of making sure Beckett didn't fall over.  I am ashamed to admit that I made no heart-shaped sugar cookies this year.  Rylynn and Carter had some at Rylynn's preschool party and after all the glitter and valentine making mess was cleaned up, I just couldn't bring myself to make cookies and make another huge mess frosting/decorating them.  Poor deprived children.

I do have to also mention that Garrett bought us tickets to the symphony for a happy "I love you in February" present but we don't go until next weekend.  Thanks honey!

HELP!!!

Mom, please have another baby girl soon so that I don't have to be the pretend "little sister" anymore!
Seriously, this is not good for my image!

Okay I kind of like the necklace, but don't tell anyone! Love, Beckett:)

My struggle

Fostering creativity in my children= HUGE MESS!!

Seriously, I struggle with this because I have always been a neat freak and Rylynn's "projects" always leave me with a house that looks like it was bombed.  The picture doesn't look that bad, but believe me it was bad!

I sucked it up today and decided since it's for Valentine's Day and since I have a very art loving, creative little girl, we would do the homemade version so that she could excersize her creativity.  She did a great job too.

It was worth it since it made her day, but oh man I was trying to stop myself from pulling my hair out everytime I took a look around my kitchen.  Oh the glitter!!!  I seriously get so worked up over messes and have to take a step back and a deep breath and remember that it will all be clean again someday:)  I know I'm a freak.

While we're on the subject of child #1, I have to post these pics...

After her last mini-concert at school I wanted to take a picture of her since she was all dressed cute.  She made this weird face so I told her we needed to take another one....

This was her "better" one.  What a loony!  She has such a personality this one!

6 Months Old!

Beckett turned six months old today!!  I cannot believe he is already half way to a year.  It makes me sad how fast those first months fly by.  Beckett has his two front bottom teeth and we are pretty sure that the top front teeth are about to poke through any day now.  Beckett weighs a whopping 19 lbs. 1 ounce!  I can't get used to that since Rylynn was 19 lbs until she was about 15 months old.  Beckett is super tall though so he doesn't seem that big to me.  My arms sure think he's that big though!  Thanks baby, I'm getting some toned arms!  We just love our little Beckett boy!
Seriously LOVE those blue eyes!

Okay I'll try this mushy stuff.

I'm not so sure about this Mom!

Okay it's not so bad after all.

Alright, I actually love it!
This week we are going to start veggies.  We'll see how he likes those.  If he's anything like his big sister and big brother, he will scarf them:)  I know, I'm lucky, my kids LOVE veggies.
