Last Monday morning, I was downtown with Rylynn while she was in surgery to remove her pins and examine her arm and Garrett was in the valley with Carter for his adnoid surgery. Beckett was being watched by our friend. It was a Crazy Morning!!
Carter has had lots of problems with his ears for years and after tubes didn't solve the problems, we went to the next step and had his adnoid removed and had a new tube placed in his right ear.
His recovery was very fast and went very well. He vegged out on the couch with Ollie for a couple hours and then ran around the house as usual. In fact he got all mad at me that I wouldn't let him ride his bike around that afternoon!! I had to explain to him that he had had something cut out of his head that morning!! When he showed up for school the next day the teachers were shocked. I told them I couldn't keep him home even if I wanted to:)
Rylynn's surgery went really well too and the end is in sight for all her arm drama. The Dr said that after removing the pins he was able to straighten out her arm to see if it was going to pull to the side like he thought it might. I was so happy to hear that it had healed perfectly straight! She's in physical therapy twice a week and it is getting stronger each day. She only has to wear her splint now when she is playing outside which she is really excited about.
Amid all the children's surgeries we are being forced out of our house and have been packing like crazy to stick all of our belongings into a storage unit. Life has taken a very unexpected turn for us and it has been a really rough month but I am thankful for wonderful friends and family who are helping and supporting us through this chaos of our lives. I have yet to understand the Lord's plan in all of this but I know he will provide for us as he always has and I know he has not abandoned us. For now I am going to take the kids to UT for the month of July while Garrett works his buns off for his big trial on July 11th. Then hopefully we will be able to all live together under one roof and not have to move again for a long time!!! I hate moving!

I wish Carter was in my ER! I would climb up on the gurney and nuggle him. He is the cutest kid I've ever seen with a hair net on.
Thanks for the update, finally. I was wondering if you'd already packed your computer!
You are so faithful....maybe Garrett is going to win his trail and then you can go build your dream house...maybe that's the reason.
I'm so glad everything went well with the surgeries! I hope we get to see you at least once while you're down here! Give us a call, Jaylee loves buddies.
I'm so glad that the surgeries went well for you guys! Sorry you are going through so much though. Have fun in Utah this summer and keep us posted on how the housing thing turns out!
Just remember that this trial will someday feel like a small moment. You are a rockstar Rachel, you really are. I know the moments come and you don't feel like it, but you are handling this with amazing grace and faith. I'm just a text away and I can be there to sweep your floors or steal your children in a matter of moments...I leave C at home next time;)
Yay!! Your coming to Utah!! Let's hang out!! I am so so gald that both surgeries wetn well!! What a great blessing!! I am so sad that you have to move.
Rachel, You are so strong. I am sorry to hear of your trials. Please, call when you get back and you can stay here if you need to. We have a big room above our garage and the kids can play in the yard. I have been thinking of you and wanted to get together before summer ends. SEriously, call when you get back! My cell # is still the same.
Bummer you had to move:(. I hope it went well, or as well as a move can go. I'm glad the surgeries wentwell though!
